Symbolism

I am submitting my form of the black power symbolism. It’s apparent that black inequality is prevalent in our communities and my design of this symbol is to highlight as well as spread that empowerment to our community. I wanted to see this symbol in a different design as well as highlight the Black Panther parties efforts to stand again civil injustices towards Black people and other people of color.

My name is Tai Sa-Ra, I am a 21 year old painter, designer and dancer from Belleville, Illinois. I aspire to constantly challenge myself as well as the social constraints that can be confining as an artist. Welcome to my world!

I wanted to participate to express my solidarity in justice as well as knowledge in the constant injustices that we are faced in our society. As a black woman in the arts as well as a human being I would like to highlight the issues we face as well as how we can continue to keep our heads high. My piece will hands to express empowerment and togetherness. As a community keeping our heads together is powerful and I feel that the piece I create will best express this.
