When we’re young, things are simple. Our friends are our friends! We aren’t born with internalized stigmas, or preconceived beliefs about each other... we’re just people. Drawing things that don’t make sense, having fun, or using crayons. We all play the same.

As an Asian-American artist, as well as a member of the LGTBQ community, I would love to be able to offer my voice and work towards social issues within our community. Since I am an illustrator mainly for children's media and products, I would love to contribute in the funding for youth workshops. I think that education in youth, and early stage learning is essential in breaking down social stigmas and bias. I love creating work that tries to demonstrate this. Youthful work, featuring children or people of all backgrounds. Sometimes it's not always direct conversation that's needed, but the normalizing of diversity!
