Hope

To say it boldly, children are not protected or treated as the innocent and pure beings that they are. This is a global issue and is a part of a much larger toxic web of evil that stems beyond our domestic grounds. Coming from a dark childhood, I have always seen child abuse, trafficking, and any child traumas as the largest issue the world faces collectively. This is a black-and-white issue. Evil is evil and good  is good. This particular drawing shows children still having hope despite the pain they’ve  endured, looking up to the light. No matter your beliefs whether it be in God or the universe, the light will always prevail.

I would like to participate in this exhibit, because I feel it is relevant, important, and necessary. One of my personal missions an artist and musician, is to carry myself and my art with a sense of purpose. I try to be selective and aware of the message I convey as art and all forms of expression are hugely impactful. I feel this show is one of purpose and one that will continue conversations around important issues.

Originally a classical pianist, I have a deep sense of discipline and structure which has conveyed itself in my art. Whether it's abstract or Art Deco, I enjoy precision, detail, and bold lines. While I dabble with colors once in awhile, my true love is for black and white pieces.
