Action

The last year had been difficult. Especially for overlooked, marginalized, and oppressed communities. We can’s stop talking about important issues when the news is over. Now is the time for action. Take to the streets. Talk to your friends, coworkers, strangers. Call your legislators. Make change happen. Always keep fighting.

I want to share my art and help raise awareness about injustices and violence against people of color in America. My signature style is creating portraits "drawn" free motion on my sewing machine. Most of my work is 5"x5" and painted with watercolor. For this project I used black thread and "paint" elements using the same thread.

Erin is a Denver artist who expresses herself with fabric and thread. From modern quilting to free motion quilted portraits, each piece makes a statement or provokes thoughtful conversation. For her Signs of Change series, Erin creates tiny quilted portraits of protesters to leave in public spaces for others to find.
