Battle

Mental health has never been a simple issue. Every person fights their own personal battles. But when you fight your battles alone it can leave you feeling hollow. It can be even more isolating when you win those battles and have no one to celebrate your success with.

I am a high school student artist, currently in my Junior year. I am extremely passionate about making change and an impact, specifically in the mental health community, through my art. I work in various different mediums but have a generalized style that focuses on the background and feeling expressed in the piece rather than focusing on the subject. Because of that, all of my pieces include silhouettes instead of realistic figures.

I generally focus on mental health issues through my art. There are still so many different stereotypes and misunderstandings around mental health and I hope to help people understand it. Mental health is not a black and white scenario and there are so many different circumstances that make it so unique. I like to leave my art vague enough to be finished off by the interpretation of the viewer. I want my art to leave the viewers understood and heard, since mental health can be something that is very isolating.
